The 2020 Pushcart Prize

I’ve had word today that my story, Smoke & Cinnamonhas been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. This piece was born in a Kathy Fish workshop. I draw a lot from real life, but much of the time I embellish or exaggerate. The people in this story represent real people, but are not completely accurate depictions. Except my brother with his nose in a book.

While 2020 has been quite a non-productive year for writing for me, it has been very productive for my mental health and, frankly, my soul. So, while I’ve only published three pieces of flash fiction this year, I’ve accomplished so much.
